Re: Boogie Studio .22 + The subway does this by putting a 1M pot right after the "lead" stage, before the switching (the subway uses relays, I think the .22 uses LDR). Then it has two switchable stages after the tone stack. The stage that is on for the lead mode is not affected by the rythm volume control, and has a different EQ. On the .22 you can disable the rythm volume on lead mode by connecting the grid of the stage after the tone stack to the top of the volume pot or to some fixed resistive divider in parallel with the pot, instead of connecting it to the wiper of the pot. It recquires an additional relay or one more pair of LDR's. |

Dave, I'm very interested in that mod, that was exactly the kind of mod I was thinking about, even though I would be more happy with a more open sound on the clean channel, please mail me if you'd care Yours sincerely Nils |

The mod I'm looking at involves replacing R292 with a 500k pot. As for making the clean sound more "open", I don't know. Different tone stack values? Changes in the -fb loop? (I suspect this is an area of improvement, but I have absolutely NO technical reason to support this) |

Re: Boogie Studio .22 + Hi. If you can get ahold of one(beg, borrow, steal, whatever), try a "black plate" RCA 5751(or maybe a GE black plate 5751, maybe) for the first tube. I was checking out some RCAs to see if they were good, and was pleasantly surprised at how good they sounded. Dai Hirokawa |
