help! need Schematic for a '77 super reverb
Please somebody point me to where I can find a schematic to tame this 70W beast! I have been enlisted to run the reverb through the normal channel, a la G. Webber, and either tape off the UL taps or change out the OT to get a more Bassman like sound. This amp only used white wire for hookups and it's making my eyes crossed.%-(
Any other mod suggestions would also be appreciated.
This amp also has one (original fender brand, USA)6L6GC that has no getter, the mate still does have some. Can the getter get used up and the tube still be OK? I always thought they'd died without the getter....

Thanks,

Marc

Marc,
There is probably one online somewhere that some of the other folks on this page might be able to steer you to. If not, I have one. Let me know. As to mods, what are you looking for in sound?

Tim:
I've checked the Fender field guide and it hasn't got this particular amp...so a copy would be greatly appriciated. The guy who owns this amp wants it toned down to more of a BF Bassman. I was planning on changing the Screen supply from UL to the standard Fender set up or maybe triode if the regular sound doesn't get the amp were my buddy wants it. I haven't done anything to it yet but get crosseyed looking at all the white plastic wire inside. It also seems to have an extra amount of wax build up from the fiber board that is coating everythind on it, almost like it was dipped. Obnoxious.
The owner says it's just too loud, and wants it to be more harmonically rich, But he'll consider other non distructive mods too.

Thanks,

Marc

Marc,

A quick tip to save your eyes is the use of colored "Sharpies." In addition to the "standard" black I keep red, blue, and green ones on the bench to stripe/band poorly coded/non-coded wires (and to mark pc boards, etc.).
