Hi Nils, I also have a Cream Machine but don't really find it to be bright. How about changing the tubes? Just an idea. I wish there was at least a simple tone control on the unit. Other than that, maybe an EQ would help, either pre or post or both. I know I saw a schematic somewhere on the web. Did you ever see it? If not, I'll try to locate it for you or someone else might have it readily available. Maybe that would give a clue as to where you could change the tone a bit. But, the easiest and fastest might be to swap out the tubes. There are two 12AX7's I believe, haven't opened mine up lately. One more thought, what are you playing it through? Using it for direct recording, feeding an amp or simply connecting it to a speaker? Maybe something else is causing it to sound bright? Terry |

Terry, I have the schematic, downloaded it from the site that Steve pointed out. I am feeding my Chieftain-clone with it. I will try and change the tubes 12AX7 and 12AU7, I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this unit. Thanks to both of you Nils |

| anonymous | Do you feed the Chieftain through a usual guitar input or through some sort of FX loop? The former will cause a treble boost.... |

| Mike P | In Guitar World 1992-93 Buyers Guide under H&K there is a 'CBE Slammer Switch eq switcher' for $49, is this some kind of eq for the Cream Machine? I've never seen one of these in europe though. Has anyone seen theese and maybe shed some light on this mystery switch for the Cream Machine? Regards, Mike P |

Yes I'm feeding it through the usual guitar input, do you have any suggestions or is the only remedy to put it in the loop. Thanks Nils |
