| anonymous | Re: Cream Machine Put an AB switch in the loop: Input: A: send of guitar preamp B: send of Cream machine Output: return of the amp Connect your guitar to the amps normal input and the Cream machine input. Note: You might get hum due to having a ground loop. I'm not familiar with that amp and it's FX loop - there may be volume problems. |

It work quite well, thankyou. Could you please try to explain the treble boost when connecting to the guitar input. Is it impedance problems or just the configuration of the amp. Nils |

| anonymous | That's no impedance problem. It's the treble boost and/or bass/midrange cut that almost all guitar amps perform in the preamp. |

Nils, I agree with you the Cream Machine is bright.Referring to the schematic, replace C3, 100pf with a higher value. Start with ~.02uf and adjust up or down to taste. I also put in a 6.8k resistor in parallel with the 39k (R3). this reduces the gain of the op amp and gives a more useable range of distortion IMHO. Also looking at the schematic, I realized the Cream machine has a parallel effects loop! Use the Tube out for a send and the Instrument out for the return. Perfect for a reverb or delay unit. |

Dave, Thanks for the reply, do you use it in the normal guitar input of the amp? I'll try the loop thing also. Thanks again Nils |

Yes the normal input. I suppose you could plug into an fx return or power amp in jack too depending on the amp. I forgot to mention that the loop thing doesn't work on the speaker out jack. Try using the cab out jack, it's not as bright as the mix out. I think it's basically like a built in H&K redbox sort of thing. |
