Mullard el-34
What can you tell me about mullard EL-34's? I've just

come across a couple and wonder what they are best suited to. Thanks, Ben

Ben;

Stick them in a Marshall and you'll love the tone!

They're outstanding in most any MARSHALL amplifier that calls for type EL-34 or 6550 power-output tubes...(if the amp has 6550's, have it re-biased for the MULLARDS)...Frank.

    Not only do Mullard EL34's sound terrible in all amps but they have been listed as a hazardous waste by the EPA. However, if you mail them to me, I will see that they are disposed of properly. < g >

P.S. Do you have any more Bassman heads for sale? I already used up the one you sold me last year and I'm ready to buy another one! (I finally got around to building my "Hot Rod Tweed" project, with much help from RJ Wilcox who put one together last spring from my drawings and worked out many of the final tweaks to get the gain down to a very usable level.)
