| M/J | Re: 5AR4 verses 5V4 Thanks Bruce, I am using NOS 6v6gta GE's in the one amp and the other has NOS rca black plates in it. They have been holding up fine. I like the sound of the amps but was having a hard time understanding why the 5v4 in the one amp sounds cleaner than the 5ar4. I guess the search will be on for me to find somemore 5ar4's. I'm very anal when it comes to nos compared to foreign. I don't have a foreign tube in any of my amps. I did try some ruby tubes in a friends amp and like them ....I must admit. M/J |
