The whole winding is rated at 160mA but because of the rectification each side of the winding conducts alternately for half of the mains cycle. For the other half of the cycle no current flows. You draw 320mA alternately from each side for one half cycle and 0mA for the next half cycle so the average current over the whole cycle is 160mA. Dave | |
