Capacitor goop Does anyone know the 'Brand Name' of that goopy stuff manufacturers use to secure large capacitors to circuit boards? Thanks in adv. Bob |

I don't, but I will point out that hot-melt glue and various RTV silicone adhesives are popular around here. |

Just don't use off the shelf Silicon calk/glue. It contains acetic acid and will make a mess of the inside of your amp over time. ..Joe L |

The "Ultra" series of sealant/adhesives made by Loctite is non-corrosive, and you can buy it at your local auto parts store. The Ultra Grey is the toughest/strongest version. My $0.02, Pete |

What's the stuff the big amp manufacturers use, usually to anchor big capacitors on printed circuit boards. Obviously, that is the proper compound for that job (non-corrosive) or they wouldn't use it in that environment in the first place and we all know that they wouldn't use anything too expensive, either!
