2203-clone: voltages?
Hi!

I’m going to build a 2203-clone from scratch (and mod the hell out of it :-)). What I would like to know: What are the voltages to shoot for on the pre-amp tubes. I gathered some info from GT’s Tube Amp Book, and from the schematic of the Pignose G40, and I would like to know if these voltages are good starting points.

So,

V1a plate 210V
V1a cath 1.75V
B+ 280V

V1b plate 250V
V1b cath 2.6V

V2a plate 165V
V2a cath 1.0V

V2b cath 167V
B+ 290V

V3a plate 220V
V3b plate 210V
V3a+b cath 37.5V
B+ 330V

Any input is most welcome!

Thanks,

Gerben

well then--thought of this while reading your post......

Seperate 6.3V transformer for the filaments.
Big honkin PT--just glancing thru a catalog. A Hammond 278CX(400-0-400 @ 465ma). Guess your gonna need a variac and you got ALL the voltage range you could handle. Have to lug that variac all around with you and work with 2 power cords--or this could be a "Prototype"-yeah-baby.

too much--nah
