Trainwreck Rocket schematics?
I'm gathering information in preparation to build a Trainwreck Express clone and I've recieved a lot of helpfull information and schematics. This has me interested in seeing what's under the hood of a Trainwreck Rocket. Has anyone traced a schematic of one of these?

Not that's been brought up here. Maybe behind our backs somebody got one--but they aren't saying!!!

All I have heard is that they are supposed to be like an AC30 but with some well-placed tweaks. Right now I am more interested in information on the Liverpool amps...

I was re-reading Ken Fisher's section in Gerald Weber's first book a few days ago and it said something along the lines that the express amp made from converting the Liverpool amp to fixed bias and using 2 EL-34s/2 6V6s instead of the Cathode biased 4 EL84s. However, I'm sure that he tweaked the circuit design somewhat for the express though.

The rocket is like an ac30tb channel with a bit from both the normal and treble versions. The biggest difference comes in the pwr supply. It's filtered almost the same as the Express. but it does have a tube rect and a choke. And it does use an 80uf cap for the first stage - that goes against all the books, but a DRZ amp does this also.

Joel 2 or 3 gain stages and other questions
Anon,

From what you are saying than, the preamp has two gain stages, a cathode follower, and then the tone stack, followed by the phase invertor?

From pictures there is not a presence control so I assume there is no negative FB?

Are the EL84's fixed or cathode biased?

Just some info from books that don't really say anything.

Pittman list the Liverpool rocket tube compliment as 3-7025, 4-el84, gz34.

Funk's book(pg-100) list the preamp setup as a 1+1. First stage--tone stack--second stage out to driver. The express is a 1+2 for comparison.

so the difference in information just confuses me more also.
