Re: Chassis Questions
Shouldn't be a problem. Just go slow, and put some oil on the punch. The tool is made of hardened steel (it has to be harder than whatever it's cutting after all) Al is pretty soft. I haven't cut anything 1/8" thick, but I'm pretty sure you'll be ok.

I built an 8 tubed KT88 bass head with 1/8" thick AL and although it was tough and a little slow going, my bench punches got through it fine as long as I kept them clean and lubed up.
I had to use a little cheater tube for leverage on the clamping bolt with the 1 1/16" diameter punch.

Thanks, I'll give one a try. Where can I get a good deal $$ on one of these punches? Any place have better prices than Mouser?

Check with your local HomeDepot or Lowes, they sell them, and are constantly giving 10% off etc coupons. Also, you MAY be able to get a 'contractors discount' if you are a registered business, or have a buddy who is a carpenter etc who can buy them for you.
