was reading through glass audio tonight anyone see the hunder watt amp (the one on the cover)  
the guy had 36, 2a 1kv diodes in series before the filters to drop the voltage from 530ish to 510. then a switch set up to drop a a couple of diodes so that depending on wether the lin voltage was 117, 120 or 123 he would have a b+of 510vs  
 
to me atleast it would seem like your asking for trouble chaining 36 diodes in a row. i guess it works but definetly there easier ways to do what he want

An easier way would be RG's Vintage Voltage Adapter(or Clark's $200+ version covered in vintage lacquered tweed and wired with cloth wire(gimme a break, lol)
