Amp case design Most of the amps i've come across so far use a folded metal chassis with everything mounted on it. I am mounting my valves on double sided PCB, because it's easy to solder to and I don't have any sheet steel or aluminium to hand. The transformers will be mounted on the wooden base of the case and the PCB mounted on stand-off insulators. It's not too late to change the design, any thoughts on pros and cons of this method? One other quick question, where/how is the best way to mount Reverb Tanks, i've just ordered an Accutronics Type 8AB2A1B. I'll be driving it with SS devices, what sort of input signal do they require power wise, mine is the 10 Ohm version? Chris |

You might be happier screwing the tube sockets to a piece of plywood, maybe on little standoff bits of wood. You'd be a lot less likely to break solder joints while replacing/fiddling with tubes. |
