Heavy distortion with FETs?

Andy	Heavy distortion with FETs? Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to obtain heavy distortion with a FET preamp? I'd like to try that out very much. Just, like, put six or eight amp stages behind each other...     64,000,000x amplification should do the trick...     Has anyone ever tried this?     Just asking, thanks.

aron	Did you ever build one? It has tons of drive/distortion/compression already. Any more and it would be too noisy.     To get "heavy" distortion - try radical EQ after it with a 5 or 7 band EQ.     Aron
