To the "gurus".... I want to thank the gurus in this group - especially the ones that have been around a long time. People like Jack and R.G. and others, for taking the time out to help us. Not only for taking the time to help us with our mediocre circuits, but also for doing it without "attitude". It must be frustrating to see beginners like us make the same mistakes over and over, making false assumptions and generally stumbling around trying to make things work. Yet I never detect an attitude of "looking down" at us. Even though you guys know TONS more, you guide us and let us learn by making mistakes. Thanks! Aron |

| brentl | What Aron says is totally true. I have never seen any attitude, even when, on a daily basis, somebody asks a question they should have easily been able to find on the "common pitfalls..." page or one of the other excellent resources avaiable. I know I've done it a few times. Aron- you're just as patient as the "gurus", and hey, who's to say you're not one of them. Certainly you're one of the most knowledgable people here. How many posters can say they have actually designed their own circuits? This is a good little community here, and I've learned so much from it. (plus I got a great deal on what I think should be an invaluable resource. Ha-ha Borders.) Until the next time Aron has to tirelessly refer me to his "pitfalls" page, brent |

You're right there Aron, I've been building amps and effects for over 10 years, and I'm still learning new things everyday. As I see it, helping others, you're helping yourself in the process. Ideas, that you probably would never have thought of by yourself, can be discussed with others that have experience in that particular field. Everyone on this board are so diverse. But congradulations should also go to you for having a really interactive discussion board. Pete |

uhh. I am not a guru - I still don't understand transistor biasing yet. The more I learn, the more I have to ask questions, yet the more stupid these questions seem. I am not that patient either. You should see my soldering once the board has been completed. The soldering of wires/jacks is horrible due to impatience! I have to admit that I am full of great distortion pedals now. Just imagine if I were a great guitar player! I would have such a GOOD tone and sound! Oh well.... Aron |

Yep, all of you guys rule! Even the beginers. Those questions that seem silly help bring me back to square one and re-think where I should be looking when having troubles with a circuit. But ya know, I still wonder if R.G. is a machine! The man is non-stop! Truly amazing! Take care, Jered |

I should give my words of gratitude as well. I have learned more from this forum and your web sites than I ever could have in highschool. I think thanks to you guys I'll go into electrical engineering, unless those of you who are/have doing/done it think it is a mistake and I should go into another field of engineering. Maybe once we all retire we can start up a business together making/selling stompboxes...just a thought, though that will be a long way off for some/most of us. Thanks again for all your excellent help, and great resources...without effects pedals there is no purpose for me playing guitar, i might as well go back to playing drums only. Krusty |
