Re: Bob Clear's Electar 10 mods!!! and Electar 30 info. >( I didn't wanna piss you of , or something like that ! , really , Chris ) No offense taken or intended. Most of this mod is just re-voicing the preamp and tone stack. Will change out a couple power resistors when the EL34 tube is installed, but not messing with the high voltage supply. I figured it would be safe to use same or higher ratings for replacing existing components. As for the metal-films, something to consider if building from scratch. Since this is a mod, I'm sticking with the same types of components that are already in there, since not all the components are getting changed. >Maybe this is something for Ampage ? This whole thread should probably be in ampage, got started here when I mentioned the musicyo site. Doug |

>relatively speaking .....they are both really loud... It's amazing how loud 10 watts really is. I helped out the kids at the church the other night and I was standing right next to the drummer who was playing very LOUDLY. He was behind plexiglass but still, I had to keep the amp volume between 3-4 to keep from blowing everyone out. --------------------------------------------- A Tweed Champ can reach 105 dB ! If you want more power simply use a high eff. speaker ( check the xx dB/1m/1W specs ) 100 Watt RMS is twice as loud as 10 Watt RMS , everything else being the same ....... --------------------------------------------- Where is the thread on Ampage that talks about the Elektar 30? **** use the search-function . --------------------------------------- have a good time ! | ZGRAV | Chris --- thanks for posting the link. I am enjoying reading about the differing takes on the Electar amps. For some reaon I was not able to find any of those postings yesterday through the Ampage search engine. FWIW --- MusicYo says the Electar 10s will be back in stock in about a month. Music Yo is in the process of "having some more made..." I did see that the Electar 10 is in stock on the European site, but that certainly wouldn't inspire me to place an international order. |
