Electar 10 FWIW, it looks like the Electar 10 is gone. Checked musicyo earlier and all they had was the 30. I guess I'm glad I got mine when I did-what a deal. I'm still modding mine right now. Waiting on a new zip drive, when it comes in and I can offload my HD, I'll get out some sound samples. Doug |

Hey Doug, I know this is probably to late to ask, but would it be possible to make some "before-after" sound samples so we can hear what different mods can do to sound. I'm way to new at this and am afraid to mod my electar, but I guess I will change out the speaker with something better. Peter. |

>I know this is probably to late to ask, but would it be possible to make some "before-after" sound samples so we can hear what different mods can do to sound. Right now I'm just tweaking around with it, just trying to learn how different changes affect the sound. I haven't settled on any kind of "final mod" yet. When I do, if it's not too radically different I'll see what I can do about putting it back into the "before" state for the samples. >I'm way to new at this and am afraid to mod my electar, Take it to a tech and get him to show you how, if you're nervous. R.G. has a write-up on safety precautions in his tube FAQ. I found that helpful to me for draining the caps and etc, BUT- if you don't have a lot of electronics experience or confidence, it is better to get some help. Aside from the safety stuff-modding it is pretty simple. The parts are well labeled and easy to access on the PCB. The PCB pops out pretty easily. I'm getting pretty fast at it. >but I guess I will change out the speaker with something better. I will eventually change the speaker, but probably not before I do the sounds. There seems to be a little "honk" coming from this thing that I suspect may be the speaker-maybe not. Peter, as you have probably found, the tone on this thing doesn't get horribly interesting until you start driving it a little with a stompbox. My Shaka Braddah 4 has really worked well for this.
