Triple Bypass on a KS 69, why?
was wondering why you would need to go through all the trouble of doing this. why not just use a 3PDT switch's extra set for the LED's and your good go. or am i missing something?
thanks,
rich

Because Fulltone 3PDT switches are $17 and are reported to be less reliable than a Carling switch. I get Carling DPDT switches for $9, and the Triple Bypass takes about 10 minutes to build and costs less than $1 to build.

I suspect that the reliability problem on Fulltone
3PDT's is overstated. Fuller's first large batch
had too many infant failures and doubtless made
him tear out some hair until he did the necessary manufacturing changes and made good on the original
purchases.

I'm sure you're right Daniel. It's just that when I have to choose between a $9 switch that I know will take all kinds of hell and a $17 switch that is a less proven commodity (although I'm sure Fuller would "make right" any problems), I'll take the $9 switch and build the Triple Bypass.

"Let me say this about that..."

I don't know that it's 'right', but this is my
experience:

If you absolutely need 3PDT's, then you get them.
At the moment, Fulltone's 3PDT switches are the
only ones available to hobbyists in small quantity.
Mike Fuller was up front about the bad batch but
I've had no problems with the several I bought.

Fujisoku has two 3PDT switch models but they
want a minimum order of several hundred dollars.
Too rich for me.

If you are building from scratch, Carling DPDT's
and Keen's Millenium Bypass similar make too much
sense to ignore.
