JRC4558 op amp I want to try the change of op amp in my TS9. I don't know if it makes THAT difference in the sound. I'll give it a try. But I have a problem, I can't find it. I know Mouser have (the NJM or something) but they don't sell for less than $100 for foreign orders (I'm from Argentina) Anybody knows where can I find the op or can help me? Thanks!! Willy |

| Gord | Check your op-amp. A lot of the reissues have the TA45558 chip (I think that's the number, I can't really remember exactly). I socketed my TS9 IC chip and after A/Bing the stock chip with an RC 4558, I didn't think that it was worth the effort I put into it. They might have sounded a hair different from one another, but IMO not enough to say that one's better than the other. We all have our own opinions, but I think that changing the 2 resistors in the output to TS-808 specs makes a very cool, albeit subtle difference! Another cool change would be to swap the tantalum caps for polyester film. That makes the pedal come alive with a touch more clarity, I think. All the info you need you can find at: http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/TStech/tsxfram.htm |

Yes, you're about the op amp. That's the name. Do you think the change of resistors is more important than the change of the op amp? Which diference does it makes in the sound? Willy |
