Short shelf life

aron	Short shelf life I'm a little worried. I don't know what happens to the messages we post once they scroll off. In addition, it looks like some messages/threads are already disappearing. I need to find out more about this from tboy. How do you guys feel about this...?

Aron, the way I understand it (from other posts on Ampage) t-boy archives the messages, but in a currently unaccessible form :>) He is apparently working on this. I always cut-and-paste what seems important to me anyway. For the time being, I suggest others do the same.

I believe the parameters may have been shortened for snipping threads on the other forums --but they have a lot more traffic than here.

t-boy has made a lot of alterations to the software in the last 6 months, or so, and most have been very successful --as you can see by how well the interface works.

Sweetfinger	I don't mind a short shelf life-like milk, but these things are scrolling off the same day they're posted. Makes it a bit difficult to keep up eh?

aron	I thought that too, but now I don't think so. Look at my very first post. It's still there and it's been 2 days. It should start scrolling off after a 1000 messages.

JD Sleep	Aron, IMHO the benefits here far outweigh the short life of the messages. Cutting and pasting is the way to go for now. Please stay here, it's sooo much easier. JD

Not to worry, Aron; nothing will be lost.

I set your forum for a limit of 1000 current messages. After that number is reached the oldest messages will begin to roll into the archive. It will be a while yet before that happens.

Nothing has really disappeared, but I did consolidate a few posts into one after Willie corrected the URL of his mp3 example.
