DF-2 I now own a DF-2 Boss Super feedbacker and distorion. Some questions 1) The distortion seems weak lifeless, is that right? 2) to get the feedback to work I have to hold down the switch when the effect is on (the led flashes) is there any way to engage the feedback effect without holding down the switch? I tried double taps, I am at a loss. Is this how the effect works? |

Hmmm, the distortion in the DF-2 is pretty similar to the DS-1, so that's what it should sound like. Shouldn't be weak and lifeless -- unless that's what you think a DS-1 sounds like. The feedback feature works like you describe. That's how it's designed. It wasn't, IMHO, one of Boss's better efforts. Kate Ebneter Collector of Noise Toys |

I kinda liked mine. The distortion was good, like other basic distortions but yeah the feedback thing was perfect for playing "more than a feeling" by Boston (if that's your bag) |

Hi Gus, Have you got the schematic of the DF-2? I'm be interested by the feedback processor, how does it work? Is it based on a compressor device? regards |

It's a phase locked loop (PLL). |

yea the DF-2 is an interesting pedal, not very versatile. the distortion sound is not as warm or expressive as a ds-1 (Note: original from japan, the new ones from taiwan are'nt as warm, and on all of them you can't turn the tone past 11o'clock unless you want to play heavy metal kazoo). the feedback feature is realy unexpresive ,it is some kind of sample loop thingy. and holding the pedal down while it's on is the only way to activate it. df-2 is ok for feedback when recording direct, but no replacement for a loud amp, any loud amp. |
