Does anyone have any advice on adapting a Big Muff for use with an active bass guitar? My passive basses sound just fine with the Muff, but my new active ESP hammers the input. The output is weak and distorted. Yes, I've changed the batteries in both the pedal and the guitar.

Check to see  
(a) does your active output have a DC level?  
(b) is the input cap on your muff shorted?  
 
If that doesn't pan out, increase the input resistor on the input line.
