Re: Cool Gear & Guitar Site
Hey Doug,

About bottom end, you won't get any Metallica sounds out of this beast :-) but I assume that wasn't your intention either.
This amp has caracter...it reminded me a litle of bands like the Jayhawks...I'd say it has enough usable bottom end.
I noticed however with all controls maxed out and really hitting my strings real hard, the amp wouldn't take that kind of abuse very well, but I was pushing it.
I haven't had the time yet to try it with some pedals but I will this weekend.
I'm sure you will be very happy with this little monster :-)

There was a long thread on these on the Ampage guitar amps forum, and the general consensus was that, although they were pretty cheaply built, the price is pretty much unbeatable. A couple of the regular posters bought them --you might try a query over there.

I put a Boss sd-1 in front of mine set for clean boost. It really gives the amp some bite. Takes away some of that extra bottom end as well.

Here's the electar 10 mod page:

I really like this amp. It has NO clean headroom starts breaking up on 4. That's just what I was looking for.

Hi All

Any info on the 30 watt model?

I posted the same question at the Amp BBS and
most folks said they were lousy.
What kind of iron are we talking about here for the Power Xfmr and Output Xfmr.
It still seems to me that if these components are solid it still
may be a good deal for modding.

Thanks again
KS
