R.G.	Re: Circuit problem... Boy, not me. I put in sockets, then turned the board over to start debugging without putting chips in the sockets.

Thanks for all the tips folks.. decided to start from scratch again. Not sure where I messed this puppy up but will keep at it. We did make up the Muff Fuzz using 123A transistors and germanium diodes and works like a charm, my son is working on adding a pot in place of R2 on the schematic to vary the amount of "fuzz" and the tone adaption somone did and posted on the board (before the change) here with a link to the info.
