Pedalboard-how to hold the pedals?? I want to build pedalboard. Heavy duty aluminium case with carpet inside, for ten or up effects. But I don know how to hold many different pedals in his place. For example usual Boss pedals-how to hold? I have one idea-velcro on the bottom of(boss)effects can hold pedal on the carpet. But Crybaby, or Rat(with those four small gummy foots)...? Do you have any tips? Thanx Tonda |

R.G. has some general information on his site - www.geofex.com I've used thin strips of aluminum - scavanged from venetian blinds - results were mixed. |

I'm the guy that wrote the article about my suitcase pedal board that Don provided a link for. Fortunecity is sometimes unreliable, here's another link to the same thing: http://soundcorecords.com/guitareffectsprojects/pedal.html Here's what I've always done with great results: - Use the fuzzy side of the velcro on the bottom of your pedals and the hook side on the board. This eliminates the idea of carpeting your pedal board, but the pedals will work better in a variety of situations (on or off the board) with the fuzzy side velcro on the bottom of them. If you use the hook side on your pedal bottoms, all kinds of "stuff" will get "hooked" into that hooky velcro on the bottom of your pedals, can get messy. You could make double sided hook velcro pieces so that you could attach your fuzzy pedals to a fuzzy board, I've never tried that. - For Boss pedals, etc, peel the rubber off the bottom of the pedal before you glue on the velcro strips. - For pedals that have feet, make indentations on the pedal board for the feet to fit down into so that the bottom of the pedal makes contact with the board. Here again if you can leave the feet on, the pedal will be easier to use on or off the board. That's my opinions, hope they are useful. JD |

Self-stick Velcro is the easiest. Take the feet off (you might need shorter screws to hold the bottom on the Crybaby) and put them in a little bag so you dont lose them (if you want to sell the pedals someday). If you check around, you can find carpet the velcro will stick to, and do the board with this, so you can put the pedals any way you want. -Eric | |

For my crybaby, I just glued a thin piece of wood to the pedal board that equaled the height of the feet. The velcro can go right in the middle of the pedal for its entire length. Mark |
