Suitable Easy To Find MPF105 Replacements
I need a easy to find JFET for the TREMOLO PROJECT from an australian magazine. RG posted a modded Tremolo of the original one from the magazine
Also How could affect the transistor GAIN in the tremolo effect. I plan to use the BC549's instead of the suggedted 2N5088,89 by R.G. But BC's are more than NOISIER, and tremolo is not recognized to be a NOISY effect.. Should i have to Try the 2n3904 transistor to keep it more cleaner
well Film caps will do better ...

Thanks

If you want 2N5088s or 5089s, I will send them to you at US $ .30 each plus actual postage and a handling charge of $6.00. You can pay me with an international postal MO. Look in the Mouser on-line catalog (www.Mouser.com) and see if there is anything else you need, then drop me an E-message.

Alvaro,

You could more than likely use an MPF102 in place of an MPF105. Most circuits aren't that critical. If you really want MPF105's they're avaialable from Jaycar electronics http://www.jaycar.com.au. They ship internationally too.

As for BC549's, if you're using BC549B, they're noisy, BC549C is a low noise variant. Best off use 2N3904's if you can get them, easier to find than a BC549C

2N5485 is what i used in mine. (also available from jaycar or dicksmiths for any aussies)

I found the preamp transistor (a bc549) was overdriving and its not pretty so i added a variable pot, a la 'bias control', in front of the input. cleaned up fine.
