Need A/B stomp box recommendations I'm looking for recommendations for a good off-the-shelf A/B stomp box. I'd like to run my effects into the Normal channel of my Deluxe Reverb, but run clean into the Vibrato channel. Looking for something solid & quiet. Thanks in advance! |

Dod used to do a dirt cheap one that worked OK. Don't know if it's still in production. |

Bill, why the Whirlwind? I'll hafta plead my case to the Financial Director (my wife) for dropping nearly $100 on a switch box. I stopped in a few music stores last night & they're all asking around $50 for what appears to be the same crappy a/b box manufactured under different names. One thing I have noticed is a very loud POP when switching with that box. |

Billyboy, Why not make your own? It's pretty easy, and will cost you less than $20 I should think. Even with a real quality switch and jack sockets. Liam |

Time, mainly. I considered RG Keen's project, but with my electronics knowledge it would take me forever. My wife & I both work full-time & we're both in graduate school as well. That leaves precious little time for me & my guitar. I could handle a simple DIY a/b switch, but they POP like crazy when switching. I'd do RG's project, but its a little too complex for me right now. I'll probably suck it down & get the Whirlwind. |

Just try wiring up a simple A/B box, with a 1 Meg resistor from the centre pin of each output jack to ground. It's worked for me in the past, and takes about 10 minutes. Of course drilling the box takes a little longer. I know what you mean about time, I find graduate school work plenty on its own! |
