You can find the Supa Fuzz circuit diagram is here, it's basically the same as a Sola Sound MkII Pro; R.G. has a PCB available for it. There is also a mkII layout here, based on the Supa Fuzz board layout. Stuart |

| SteveG | Hi What relationship do the old Tonebenders and Supafuzz have to Jen Fuzz pedals? I have a Jen Fuzz that appears to use the same cast metal box as a tonebender, but only has two transistors in the circuit. Were they all made by the same Italian company? Cheers Steve |

The Supafuzz that I built way back is basically a super-hotrodded Fuzz Face and sounds very nice. Better into a cleaner amp than a FF otherwise we're talking nuclear meltdown. ... Ian |

Does your Jen fuzz have the 2 transistor Vox Tonebender circuit? Check this guy's page, he's into Jen stuff: http://www.geocities.com/stompbox2000 Stuart |

| SteveG | Thanks for the replies. My Jen pedal looks almost identical to the Black Vox Tonebender pictured on the website linked to above. Only difference in appearance is the silver faceplate. I think the circuit is similar, it uses the same transistors, anyway. I'll check tomorrow. Thanks again, Steve |

Steve, There was a wonderfull post about colorsound on Arons old board, I think he keeps archives. The post was very detailed with dates and models etc. Basically tonebenders and supa's were made by the marcaris brothers in London...and they still exist. I've never seen them associated with Jen although the pictures at ebay do resemble the tonebenders a little...but they may have been copies or vice versa. I'm pretty confident it was colorsound or sola sound or marcaris (all three are the same thing) who made the marshall and vox fuzzes at that time. I became a colorsound-freak a while ago when a friend brought over his original Supa tonebender for repair...I was completly blown away by the sound. I hadn't heard anything like that before... Peter. |
