stan looking for "marshally" sounding pedal
I'm looking for a pedal that will help my vintage Fender amps sound a bit more like a marshall stack....crunch, solid bass, smooth treble. Can anyone make a recommendation?

thanks.

I love my Marshall GuvNor pedal for this purpose.
You can find 'em cheap at pawn shops. This pedal has a gain (dist.) control, bass, mid, treble and volume, which produce a wide range of distorted tones. I bought my last one for $30, and they actually sound pretty good (not as good as the real thing, of course!!!).

I'd second that. I used one with a '73 (I think) Fender Twin a few years back and it certainly got the amp close to that Marshall grind.

Yeah I recommened a Guvnor or the new Guvnor2 or a
Jackhammer pedal for that 800 mod tone

what about the AMZ preamp thing? I looked at the schematic and it is based on a Marshall preamp, same values on the component but not the same rating as Jack's pedal doesn't use tubes. ;)
