Leslie's In A Box
IMHO some of the best Leslie's/Rotating Speaker sounds are either Korg G4(not sure of the number. but it says leslie simulator on it), and the Line 6 Modulation Unit for it's "Rotating Drum" effect. I've dragged a Vibratone around for years. The Line 6 is a godsend.

gotcha, scott.well i can't compare--but see my comments, somewhere below,on the voodoo analog chorus.i've get a leslie 16 (about same as vibratone)--and the voodoo gets close.except of course the leslie broadcasts sound all around--whereas the pedalmodifies the sound coming straightout of my amp.now if i hook up two amps--and face them slightly away from each other....thanks, bill

try the Line 6 unit. I think you'll be pleased.

I heard Warren Haynes playing through a Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere a couple years ago. That night , Moe Denham was sitting in with the band playing a Hammond/leslie. Warren sounded more like a leslie than the real Leslie! So far the price tag has kept me away from the H&K.

I think that Trace has given the H&K Rotosphere a "Top Rating", too. So how much do they cost, and are they still in production?

Until I got the "tube amp bug" I was a real sucker for every rotating speaker simulator that came out... now I spend all of my leftover money on tube amp parts! :(

I picked up a used Rolls Rotohorn RP147 a few years back for cheap, but I don't know if I'd recommend it very highly... My favorite simulator was an accordion amp that a friend had back in the late 60's; with the twin speakers it sounded fantastic but that might have had something to do with the rugs that I was on (the guy had some great oriental rugs— or maybe it was from Afghanistan... ;) )

Ahhh...as I recall, the best were from Nepal.
