Custom Pedal Board... Looking for resources
I'm starting to build up a pretty big collection of stomp boxes and effect pedals, and I don't want to carry them individually everywhere. So, does anyone know of any resources on the net where I can get tips on how to build custom pedalboards (by building it myself, getting it custom made will be too expensive, as I'm on a tight budget)

Thanks in advance for any help.

There's a pointer on GEO to JD's write up on his. Good stuff. Salient things to remember:

(1)Integrate the pedalboard with some kind of outside shell/case to carry it in. Pick out the case FIRST. I like old junky looking suitcases so they aren't theft targets.
(2)Cut the board proper to fit inside the case, and use foam padding cut to fit so that packing up is easy.
(3) integrate the power supply with it.

I've had good luck using the old standby: cutting boards. Sometimes you can even find them with handle already cut in.

I also second RG, have an onboard power suppy!
I run all my effects of an ADA rocket power and it works well and is much more convenient than unplugging things all the time.
As far as construction, I usually drill holes in the board and then use cable ties to lash things down there cheap and don't alter the pedal. I bought 500 of the big ones for ~$10. You can probably get them cheaper. One the back on my pedal board i use some of that non-skid rug backing.

Now if I can just stop selling my pedals before they get on the board, I'll be fine.

I just used some carpet runner I picked up at Builder's square (which I think is now out of business but other home places ought to have it). It's about 3' wide and 8' long, has rubber backing that takes to contact cement really well, and a tight weave that grips velcro very well too. It cost me about $6.00 for the roll. I have found it in a variety of colors but have never seen black.
