Edison?

Greg Edison?
Has anyone used or heard a Behringer Edison rack processor?

I use an Edison in the studio.

What it does is gives you control over the ratio between your centered mono elements in a mix and the stereo elements.

It allows you to pretty much take the mono component out of your mix and just leaves whatever is left in the right and left channels, giving a pseudo-enhanced stereo image.

It's subtle and not quite as good as some older vintage units that I'll never get my hands on (were they called Base or something like that?)

The Paia Stereo Spreader does a similar effect, not that the Edison isn't cheap enough as it is.

Thanks Roger, I've noticed on Behringers site they have several models that offer some type of surround manipulation. I have an aphex aural exciter(with big bottom) and it seems they are mixing something similar in those effects. Is the edison worth the 150. I've seen at some of the discount houses? I really don't want anything cheesey soundin! I have a modest set up with a yamaha MD8, a dbx compressor, the aphex, and a alesis midiverb 4. I'm wanting to spice up the stereoness of it.
