It would be nice to have a working unit to connect a scope to and see just what is going on! It wouldn't be too difficult to put the main part of the circuit together on a solderless breadboard. I don't particularly like the sound of the Aria PS-10 - I think it only sounds good with the depth set all the way up. Most of the "action" happens at the lower 1/3 of the sweep, instead of being more evenly spread out!
