Thanks Whit , I had a laugh at that . If I come across another your 1st on the list of course .

I still prefer MY RE-201 Space Echo for it's combination reverb & delay . Great for slapback styles . But for AUS$20 i couldn't pass up the WEM : >) It still needs a bit of work though , hence my search for a scheme .

Thanks again , Greg N.

Greg,

You're welcome, it's always great (rare) to find someone that laughs at my jokes...

I love my SpaceEcho for that same combo, rev and delay. (coincidentally, it was a $20 find for me)

And yes, the next time you find a $20 Watkins, I'll gladly fly down to pick it up, and buy 'ya a beer too...

...cheers,

I've got an RE201 too. Have you had any trouble with it sucking tone? I've got a cure for that.

My one doesn't erase very well if I put too much signal in it. Anyone know a cure for that?

Damn fine sounds though! Don't use the reverb too much, but the echo is awesome.

Compared to the bypassed signal , yes , a bit . I also find it clips easily without some form of compression in front . Would appreciate your tone-cure if you'd like to post it .

Don't really know enough to comment on the erase problem . Still pretty much a beginner , though i've learnt heaps here over the last few years .

Check out the instrument input pot. On my one this is a 10k log, with an 8.2 k resistor on the output, bypassed with a 0.001 uF cap. This is all way too low to get any top end from the guitar.

Get a 100 k log pot for the input volume.

I'm still messing with the wiper resistor. I put in a bigger one, but things are a bit noisy at gigs, so I've got to fiddle with that to get shot of the mains hum!
