Unicord EC-100 Tape Echo
Has anyone ever heard of a Unicord EC-100 Tape Echo unit?It look's like a small amp head and has a little 8-track looking tape that say's Apollo Recording Tape. The tape was of course eaten by the capstan and I never could get the thing to work.Any info on this thing would be very welcome.

Thanks, Dolan

This question seems to pop up quite regularly. You can use a tape cartridge made for Dictaphone tape recorders. I don't know if they still make them, but you might find one at an office supply or repair place. Someone out there also had a mailorder supplier for these I think.

You sure it's not a Univox? I have a Univox EC100, and 2 EC80's. They use those tapes. I think Analog Mike has them for $35 for 2. Do a search for "Analog Mike", and you should find them. Maybe they are the same thing.

Dolan,
OK, just wondering if they were the same thing with a different name. I have heard of Unicord, and I know that Univox made an EC 100, so that's what I was curious about, since it had the same model name. Is it the same tape? Looks like a mini 8-track.

Brad,

Look's like a mini 8-track.It say's Apollon Recording Tape.Apollon Music Industrial Corporation Made In Japan. My siamese cat really has been enjoying the tape that is broken and hanging out of it!!!I never could get this thing to work though I cant complain cause it was given to me.How do the one's you have sound? It would be cool to get it working and if I couldnt,it would be even cooler if I could fit an amp chassis in it.
