| Mark | Wah is life so hard! Ok folks, I have two old wahs that I am working with. THe first is a Thomas organ Crybaby that I have had about 13 years. It was old as dirt when I got it. I am guessing maybe early 70s. When I first got it aside from a bad pot, it sounded AWESOME. It sounded just like Jimi or maybe Billy Gibbons on "Sheik" from Tre Hombres. OVer the years it has gotten wimpier and wimpier. Well recently i came in possession of an old Thomas organ CORPORation Wah that looks identical inside and out. Except for the fact it says made in Mexico. I was so excited cause I thought I finally found a replacement for my other Thomas. Well this one is even weaker sounding in effect than the other. Its pretty sad when you Jim Dunlop wah sound better than these two LOL. So whats up? What parts fade out in these guys? Help. |

R.G. taught me this one. Change your 4.7 uf electrolytic capacitors. These "dry up" just like in amps. Instead of 60 hz hum, you lose the wha effect. Check out his amazing "technology of the Wha" article at www.geofex.com Good luck Mark |

| Mark | Oh I am! Question...I used a ten UF cap instead of a 4.7. Would this make an impact? On the tone? Thanks MArrk Mark |
