My wish list... To add to Mark's list, here is a list of text strings I'd like to see. I realize that some words (including those in Mark's list) would be much more popular than others (including some of the words in my list). Even if some of the words I've suggested didn't make it to the final cut, it would be great if the sheet included a bunch of letters and numbers, as well as a few symbols (()/:|<>=+-). That way, any words not making the list could be constructed. If graphics capability was available, the symbol for a barrel-style power jack would be handy, to indicate pin+ or pin-. We may also want to consider abbreviating some words in an effort to maximize the text that can be included, such as 'ENV' for envelope and 'REGEN' for regeneration. Anyway, here's my wish list of additions to Mark's list: STRAIGHT (or DRY) CLEAN RING ENVELOPE (or ENV) PITCH SHIFT F/2 F/4 LFO OFFSET RESONANCE REGENERATION (or REGEN) INTENSITY VIBRATO PHASE ADD SUBTRACT SQUARE TRIANGLE LEFT RIGHT PAN RATE SYNC OCTAVE TREM DELAY DURATION EQ Hz DRIVE SUSTAIN COMPRESS NUMBERS AND LETTERS, ()/:|<>=+- |

| peter | A company called DATAK makes rub-on lettering sets, including a package with pointers and dials etc, and a package of about 20 sheets of common electronics terms (GAIN and VOLUME and whatnot). Comes in white, black and red. very handy, problem is, I don't know where to find them-- the sets I have were given to me by a friend. peter |

| AMZ | I have some of these but the down side is that the sheets that I have include many words unrelated to amps or effects, such as RF, Antenna, etc., and do not include Rate, Depth and others that would be useful. -Jack |

someone posted in here a while back about this stuff, that if you put a printoutunder it, expose it to sunlight for an hour then dip it in cold water, you are left with a custom silkscreen.. SUPPOSEDLY the stuf worked pretty good... I still am anxious to try it myself |

So, how about it Jack - enough interest? Does it look like it would be worth your while? I agree that it wouldn't be fair for you to get stuck with a bunch of sheets, for all your effort... What about the input that I and others have provided as to text strings? Can this be incorporated if you go ahead with this? |

Sure, we can take all suggestions under advisement before designing the sheet - the suggestions so far are good ones. I'm leaning towards white letters since they can be applied to lots of colored backgrounds, and you can always laserprint black letters. Response still seems a little weak though. I just re-read the thread and there are only a couple of real positives. I got zero e-mails about it and only one response on the Co-op page. I'm still waiting on a reply from the manufacturer as to firm cost and minimums, so no decision until I have that in hand - it's not dead yet. I will include a note about this when I do the next mailing to the Co-op list and to my AMZ mailing list. -Jack | |
