Amen.

The biggest predator of them all is Wal-Mart. A 1995 survey in Iowa shows that since Wal-Mart made its appearance in the state, 50% of clothing store, 30% of hardware stores, 25% of building material stores, 42% of variety stores, 29% of shoe stores, 17% of jewelry stores and 26% of department stores had closed.

I do business with W-M and can attest to their predatory tactics. They care not about the customer, only about how many $$$ they can make per square foot of shelf space.

They employ 65 to 70 people per $10M in sales vs. small business' 106 people per $10M, which translates to less jobs (and less pay per hr.)

Heaven forbid that they should ever decide to go into the musical instruments business in a big way.

Re: Careful what you say, the CIA's back...
I've just invented a new box called the "Strangemaster." The emtpy interior of my box represents any and all possible contents, so as soon as soon as I tell my brother about it, no one will be able to make and sell anything without my permission.

A quick check of the USPTO database turns up no pending mark for him. Must be very recent.

Rangemaster is a trademark of Remington Arms who might oppose it, and also a mark of a cell phone company who is even more likely to object, especially if someone sends them an e-mail :)

The one I remember is the kitchen stove vent hood trademark - yep, "Rangemaster". However, trademark law allows the use of the same mark in commercial areas which are not likely to be confused, so the vent hood guys, Remington Arms, and Don will all have to share - if as you note, Don's note is true and it's very recent.

I was just checking out Plexi Palace and they're selling the Rangemaster pedal for $97.50 but they don't mention anything about Don at all.

I've gathered that Plexi Palaces are made by Don as he and Vic know each other. I think some folks here don't understand Don's sense of humour and reallt took this CIA, etc. stuff seriously. sounds to me like R.G. has some kinda gruge though. BTW, if anyone's checked the Trademark & Patent website you'll see that it takes 40 days for the applications to be granted and 12-14 months to get the Trademark reg. number. I have a friend who use to own a bass amp company and was always trademarking names and the way the amps looked.
