The First Mosrite Fuzzrites!!
I have actually found one of the first 250 Mosrite Fuzzrites ever made! It is the Germanium transistor type. Sounds unbileveble! It is totally different from all the Fuzzrites I've ever seen. Anybody have any info on these? Are any more of these first 250 Fuzzrites with Ge transistors surviving anywhere? Thanks,

In the book "Jimi Hendrix Electric Gyspy" the author mentions that the Mosrite fuzz Jimi is reputed to have used sounded similar to the Fuzz Face. I have a hard time believing any silcon box sounds like what Jimi used. Your pedal must be what the author was referring to. If you make a schematic I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks, Mark

Thanks, Mark. This unit does have the large thick sound like many of my old Ge equipped fuzz faces. I still prefer the Fuzz Face though because it is a bit more over the top and it cleans up much better when you back off the volume of the guitar. I do think it is sweet and certainly in the Fuzz Face relm. I will try to get you a diagram, but you will have to wait a bit because I will be touring soon and will be short on extra time. Thanks again!

Thanks, Gus. That one shows NPN transistors. I wonder if Derrick has a PNP version. Mark
