Re: What's your favorite way to mount an LED??? I've been looking at the Mouser catalog and they list "Cubelite" and "Cliplite" lens mounts for led's. T1 led's with a clear lens, low profile holder # 593-2000c for $.23. Anybody had any dealings with these? I like the idea of the led being flush with the box. BTW thanks for all the other suggestions. I've found some multi piece mounts in mouser too but the prices seem better at Radio Shack. How can that be?? Bye |

Some gear has a hard plastic tube that the diode legs go down. This makes it possible to be sure the diode is mounted at an exact height above the board, so it goes exactly in the hole you want in the front panel. Seems pretty neat in the examples I've seen. |

I've got a little pedal where I've got the LED mounted to the circuit board. The FT switch is also on the board, so the whole thing just drops into the box. So far it's held up with my doing everything I can to push the LED in and break the board. Now if I can only find the pots I'm using in the right values so I can get them on the board... |

| JC | Maybe not as nice, but the way I mount leds is: drill a 3 millimeter hole for a 3 millimeter led, smooth the hole with a thin round file, push the led from the back of the box and put 1/4 a drop jc |
