Re: Pedal board HELL-scenerio If you have a 3-wire cord on your adapter, your DC gnd is _supposed_ to be connected to the gnd lug. That puts your signal gnd on the same gnd as everything else... if you plug the adapter into the same outlet as your amp, you should be OK. If you have a 2-wire cord, the secondary (and your DC gnd) is 'floating' wrt the place you plug in. There can be enough leakage to 'wave' the secondary around, but good solid signal gnd connections should damp that. Batteries float WRT all AC connections... they hold a fixed voltage between (+) and (-), so they cannot inject hum. So, anyway... my peabrain says keep the DC leads as short as possible, plug the wart into the same circuit as your amp. Good luck |

I haven't seen many 3 prong adapters. Let me check what the Radio Shack one has. It's regulated and filtered. Sounds like I should use a 3 prong adapter or batteries. Thanks, Aron |

Re: Pedal board HELL The clock-induced whine idea makes me want to suggest you wrap ferrites around the MM's power and signal cables. There are some split ones that you can just clamp on. If you know a PC kit builder, he probably has some extras cheap. |

Oh, after reading your post again, I see that the Memory man runs off its own AC. I don't think my suggestion will work. I get to wear the dunce cap for today. |

Hi, I think you have a ground loop problem. Maybe buy a filtered powerstrip so all phase are the same and you are getting the best possible wave. Justa thought! JD |
