| danlawrence | Jimi Fuzz Wah I'm trying to eliminate endless, nasty scratching in a Hendrix Fuzz Wah's pedal control clarostat (HOT POTZ-1). When I pulled off the cover on the pot, there were numerous chunks of black, soft-carbon like deposits, or possibly dryer chunks of grease which may have worked their way down the gears to the internal pot's shaft. Has anyone experienced this, or might the deposits be some other foreign matter. There seems to be no evidence that some substance penetrated the pot externally. (No spills, external marks etc.) Any ideas? |

If you're prepared to shell out $30, you can get a "correct" pot from Teese, Fulltone or Mojo. I tried a few pot values & settled on a standard 470K log. The sweep sounds good to me, but YMMV...I've changed most of the other parts values anyway. E-mail me if you're interested. |

Thanks Stu - I'm near to a Mus. Frnd (or the "music store formerly known as ...") and decided to go with the upper end Dunlop replacement (ECB24B) for budgetary purposes. They got it for me for $17. thanks dl |
