Re: Dry Electrolytics Capacitors in Effects I currently have a Boss CS-1 compressor, which has been sitting idle for a few years. I recently left it powered up for a few days to help reform the caps, but it still has problems. The sound seems a bit low quality for a typical Boss pedal, and the LED only blinks at the footswitch pulse, but won't stay lit. Bad electros? |

That's where I'd start. I've recently worked on some Vox solid state amps. In both cases, there was *nothing* wrong with the amp other than old electros. I replaced the caps, and bango! working amp. Electro caps can't be reformed after they dry out. Once the water's evaporated away, there's nothing there to make the contact to keep forming going. |

Is there a Boss CS-1 schematic posted anywhere? I couldn't find one in any of the usual places. Thanks, Doc |

"on indicator" only lit up when the footsw. was pressed and didn't stay on. Have no idea about the rest of the probs. Sorry. Dai Hirokawa |
