cheap DPDT stompswitches
Hi!
Read somewhere recently about some really inexpensive DPDT footswitches, from MCM electronics or was it Mouser?
Anyone got the info, part #?
Thanks

I can't find this in my catalog. Where did you get the number?

Jack Orman's AMZ site has info on them, and he posted here somewhere about them not being in the catalog from MCM.

Check out http://www.muzique.com and look at the "triple bypass" page.

I have MCM catalog#41, they are on page 450, listed under Section 17, Project Accessories, Switches. I am using several of these and they work pretty good but are really sensitive to heat; I melted one with my 40W iron while trying to solder a lead to it. The terminal got too hot and shifted in the switch housing. I hope it wasn't my poor soldering;-)

Also, the switch is too short to work in some wah pedals, I couldn't get it to work in a EH Crying Tone Pedal or a Cry Baby. Works fine otherwise.

kyle what about one with the least click?
I'm using the carling dpdt in my sos, but the click is killing me. Any switches out there that click less? I do have 1m to ground on the input side of the cap, but that didn't help any. Another problem is the box (hammond 1590) picks up alot of pings. I can tap on it and hear it in the amp. I've yet to paint the thing, so maybe when I do that will stop some of this. So I guess what I'm after is ways to stop the pings and clicks. Anybody?

The click isn't a function of the switch itself. It's a function of the circuit.
