Small clone help Hi: Some nitz got into a original small clone and hogged it all up. I'm fairly sure that the bypass switch is not wired correctly and was hoping that someone either could point me to a schem., or give me a heads-up on how the SPDT should be wired. This eats status LEDS immediately and although the signal is present at the opamp outputs and various other places, there is no "effect" in either switch position. FWIW, the bbd's oscillator is even running, so I'm fairly sure that if I can get the switch problem bugged-out, I can button this thing up and be rid of it. Thank you kindly, Bill |

Here is what I have in my reissue Small Clone. Input jack to C1 .033uf, Output jack to R22 1K, Black lead of the LED to one lug of footswitch. The other lug (the one that breaks the circuit) of the footswitch goes to R24 4.7M FWIW, The reissue comes with a DPDT and only pulls 6.8 ma! I could not believe this until I realized I have been using the pedal for several weeks now, and the battery is still giving 8.8 volts. Good luck, Mark |

| Bill K | Thanks Mark: Since the RI uses DPDT, I'm not sure that this will shed any light but I will have a look. Does anyone know if the EH guy takes plastic for a drawing? At this point. I think that I am reduced to getting chopped for a drawing that I probably will lose soon from lack of interest and use. A few bucks is certainly NOT a big deal, but it becomes one if I have to send a check or ramble to get a friggin' money order. THEN, since EH made so many fargin' revisions, the wait to get the drawing combined with the fact that it may not be the 'correct' one will 'piz' me off something-like-none other. EH effects sure sound good, (I own several) but they were built like a peice of shit. (boards suspended by cts pots, shatty solder joints and wiring, cheesy jacks (especially adapter), etc. Thanks, Bill |

| GOT IT!!!!! | Hey thanks to J. Orman and Dave Ip(?). Got a schem. and discovered that the bypass takes place by the switching of a FET. The LED that I was fussing about also is in the same current path as the FET control. From the mess that the previous Tech(?)left, it would have taken me forever to fix this-and maybe I never would have. Bill |

Congrats on getting it going! I was never happy with the sound of my reissue, so yesterday I modded for true bypass and left out the "status" LED. Before the mod, the pedal sounded great by itself, lousy when used with other pedals(esp. overdrive). After the mod I noticed that the effected signal was quite louder than the straight bypassed sound. Adding a 100k trimpot before the switch allowed the two levels to match. It also needed 1M pulldown resistors on the output and input to avoid switch "pops". Now it sounds great with everything, even through the effects loop. Mark |
