Shaka Bradda/Shakka 2 schematics looking for schematics for the Shakka and Shakka 2 that were used for the sound samples on aron nelson's page. i understand that these pedals are made to be customized, but the ones used for the sample are extremely close to the sound i'm looking for. any help? |

Scott, I didn't draw up a schematic but here's the description from my site. Thankfully I jotted down what it was ----------------- What I did was make a minibooster circuit followed by an IC-based op amp circuit like the Shaka Braddah. I used the original Shaka 6 diode loop with 1N914 and N14148 diodes and then followed that with a simple resistor capacitor lowpass filter. The resulting circuit does exhibit some of the characteristics that I'm searching for. There is extreme drive; and since there are 3 diodes per side of the loop, there is more range of clean to distorted. The FET preamp at the top of the circuit adds the "grit and dirt" which then gets distorted by the op amp. I used an LF353 op amp and it sounds good. Right now there are a couple of problems. The J201's I put in the minibooster are way too powerful. I think a Radio Shack on top and the J201 on the bottom should be about right. I also have a little too much drive on the diodes, even when the drive pot is turned down. I need to make the feedback loop be unity gain when the drive is turned off. |
