A really simple Tube preamp
I'm posting this here but it really should be somewhere else on AMPAGE I would think.

Here's what I would like to try...

A really simple 1 tube preamp - akin to an LPB-1 - single stage with 12AX7 I guess.

Here's the rub. I wish this could be like an effects pedal - with part numbers, schematic, wiring info etc... That way I can follow the instructions, order the parts and go. After I complete my first project, then I can move on to harder things.

Who's going to do this for me :-)

PLEASE don't ask me to open a tube section on my page!
:-)

Hi Aron,

I did start a tube page on my site! Not much there yet though, so I ain't bragging ;-) Like you, I think I'm getting ready to dive in to some DIY tube projects.

I posted a layout for the Tube Driver schematic from AMZ on my site a few days ago. I havn't seen one any simpler than that one. I think using the layout would make it a little simpler, I have the tube socket pin numbers listed on the off-board connection pads. The reason I posted it is because it looked like a good starter project for me (I usually only post projects that look like good projects for me!!!) If you find something that looks better as a beginner tube project, let me know.

Re: A really simple Tube preamp - HV
Yes, good work JD!!!

That's what got me thinking.

BUT, I'm thinking High Voltage man - might as well go for it. BUT, keep it simple. I mean, there must be a really simple preamp design using one tube. I mean, any more complicated and you can build a Varidrive!

Here's the thing, I would like to have the parts list and placement before I start. I was hoping someone could do this and I could just follow the instructions.. :-)

Complete with PCB, and 3-band tone circuit.
The hotbox is GREAT btw.
Oh, and I also have a tubepage! Hello? Anyone? *sulk*
