GP likes the Marshall Bluesbreaker II For what it's worth, they gave this pedal their "Editor's Choice" award and said nice things about all the new Marshall pedals. Anyone checked out the BBII yet? |

Lee, The clean boost is in fact tremendous. No bass loss or coloration, unity gain is at about 9:00. The "blues" mode is pretty good, but could use a bit more presence (i.e. mids). The blues mode also IMHO tries to cover too much ground as far as the amount of gain. The tone control however sounds pretty musical no matter where you put it. And BTW they are very well built. Yeah, I tried it in the shop with a xx guitar on a YY amp. That's no way to try it but I did like it a lot. I think it could become my next main blues sound. It will have to stand up against my 19" Tube Driver before passing the test though! I am planning to make the BBI first and try it on for sound. Now if I only could get the time and that damn PCB making to work... |
