Ibanez UE - 400
R. G. or anyone else, what do you know about the UE-400 multi effects rack? Mine is pretty old with compressor, phaser, distortion, Chorus/Flanger. The foot pedal has the smaller switches very similar to the 808 series. We did a sound test comparison the other night between the TS - 808, TS-9 and the UE-400. We found it closer to the TS - 9 sound. What do you think.

I have worked on a few of these and I have the service manual for the UE-400. From memory, the clipping circuit is very similar if not exact to the TS series pedals. I do know that you are hearing the fuzz through an input and output buffer and 2 added stages in the Distortion circuit. The identity of the stages slips my mind right now but if I get time I will thumb through the manual if you'd like.

Thanks CJ. I would appreciate any information that you can provide. I am sure that it is a TS circuit but is it 808 or 9? Do you know if any of the Ibanez products can be dated by serial number?

I think you should open the thing and see *how* it switches.... :-) just kidding!

Where did you find the UE-400? They are rare around here.

Kind regards,

I saw that Analog Mike has one listed for sale. I got mine from a guy in Georgia. I will take mine apart eventually andtake a look.
