Dear Mr Orman

What are the plans for your site?

I've tried to get into the members section with no luck, I'm looking forward to building the Gnat (Rat with improvements?). I did the mods you suggested at your site, and the Rat did sound a lot better.

Much thanks for your help.

Mark.

I am busy compiling new projects and ideas into Volume 1 of my Analog Music Projects CD. All of my current projects will be updated and there will be a collection of new stuff that I'm sure everyone will enjoy (including the Fat Gnat).

I recently did some more diode clipping tests that yielded interesting results and there wil be an article about that in the Lab Notebook section of the CD.

The e-mail that I received definitely showed a preference for a CD over the idea of a members section. I think people like the idea of having a permanent copy. There will still be a members section on my web site with corrections to the CD and an AMZ-CD-owners BBS.

Thanks for you inquiry, Jack

I had a dream last night that I was playing the FAT GNAT and it sounded way better than my RAT. I gutted out my old RAT and put the FAT GNAT in there.

I think I will do it in real life.

This is off the subject of the gnat, but I've been thinking that when I ever get around to building a Hornet, I'll probably put it inside a Vox Tonebender reissue enclosure (and burn the original circuit). People will wonder how I ever got a piece of crap like that Tonebender to sound so good!

But JD, I really want you to build a Shaka 3 and see how good you can sound with it!

I mean, the Hornet is fun and all... but the Shaka 3 is the one you can use all night.
